Aaron and I were home this last weekend to celebrate March birthdays (yes I know it's April). Thought some of these pics were cute and wanted to share. The one of Grandma and I is compliments of Maggie...a future photographer in the making!

Vacationers

Tim and Christa stopped by this week during their vacation. We had a great time showing them our side of town, parking their car for free....and having great conversations and just generally catching up. Thanks for coming Tim and Christa!

Storm water in Chicago

This morning Aaron and I awoke to a blizzard. Giant snow flakes blowing sideways to make the window look like there was a white wall on the other side. Rather discourage that summer will never come we bundled up, cleared off our car and made our way to church. Much to our delight, the afternoon turned into a beautiful spring day, cold but sunny. One beautiful thing about a storm in Chicago is how the Lake Michigan waters get stirred up by the winds. This evening Aaron and I went for a run/walk down by the lake. The waves were huge and very loud.

This is a picture of the lake shore trail....yes I'm sure none of you have ever noticed this beautiful waterfall. As the water crashed onto the trail the water returning to the lake looked like a huge waterfall.
And this is my attempts at being artsy.....it's fun to take pics of the city. I think one of these days I'll make a book of all the seasons of Chicago.
Tim and Christa made it safely up here today and we're keeping an eye on their car for them. We're all planning on going out to eat tomorrow evening together. It's great to have them here!

St Patrick's Day

Last weekend Aaron and I met some friends downtown to watch the Chicago River dyed green. Though a bit cold that day and the actual dying anticlimactic, we had a good time. Here's our group

Puerto Rico

Aaron and I had a wonderful trip to Puerto Rico with Shayne and Emily. The weather was wonderful, we explored a rain forest, a bioluminescent bay, Old San Juan, and of course spent time at the beach. It was the perfect get away for Feb/Mar. Highly recommended to any adventurers out there.
We spent lots of time walking on the beach....yes "romantic walks on the beach"
Here we are hiking in the rain forest. It's protected by the US park service, but not near as protective. We were able to swim in the pools under the falls and "rock hop" all we wanted.
Just some experimenting with my camera and our IPhoto program.
Seriously Puerto Rico was a great place to visit and would recommend others to go. The beaches are beautiful, the weather 70-90 all year round (it's right off the equator), there's hiking and exploring. And it's a US territory which means no passports needed and very "American" friendly. The people there are friendly and helpful and we all got to practice our spanish....

Thank You Everyone

Thank you everyone for your love and prayers. Thought I'd share some of the beautiful flowers we were sent. I'm feeling much better physically, now I just have to get back into the swing of life. I head back to work tomorrow after taking off last week. Please pray that the week goes well. I love you all and appreciate all you've done!

Saturday night Aaron was working all night. So I had a few young group girls over and introduced them to Sushi. It was a nice night out. Thought you'd enjoy some pics.

Christmas

This is the cool quilt that Aaron's mother made us for Christmas. So if any of you are wondering what to do with your old T-shirts, this is what we did. Isn't it great? It's so fun to look at because each square has such a memory with it.

Drewber was totally stoked about his "Cars" book that made all the noises of the cars, horns honking, wheels squeeling, engines roaring. He was so excited!
