HI Girls,
Thanks to you who responded to the last post! That was so fun to read your replies! Here's some more questions for you girls to ponder:
1.If you could have a servant come to your house every day for one hour, what would you have them do? (Deffinitely the laundry!!...it seems I NEVER catch up with mine)
2. If you could, in retrospect, thank one teacher you had in school for what they taught you, who would it be, and what would you thank them for? (I think I would want to thank my 5th grade social studies teacher - Mr. McClintock. He made history come to life and made me love it. He helped me see that history isn't just a bunch of facts but stories about real people who lived. I think your first history teacher can often make or brake the subject for you.)
3. If you could make a film from any book never produced as a film, what book would you pick? (boy! this is hard! it seems like every book I love has been made into a movie. Hmmm....well, maybe it would be VERY scarry but it might be kind of fun to see "Three" as a movie...but maybe too scary! I don't know.)
4. If you could ensure one single personality trait in your children, what would you want it to be? (This is hard because there are so many I wish I could ensure my children would have. I think I'm going to say humility. I think if my kids were humble people, a LOT of things would be better and it would affect a lot of other characteristics in their life)
well, that's all I have time for right now. I love you guys.
LOve,
Rebekah

boox, i would like you to notice that i am the first one to post....:) thank you, thank you, thank you very much....ok, so here we go........
1. i would say sweep, i hate sweeping, but that wouldn't take an hour in my little apt, so when they were done, they could clean the bathroom...i hate that too...
2. i think mine would be mrs. darnell....she was my accounting teacher...she was so awesome and like really really cared about our success and made me really like/understand accounting stuff.
3. wooo, three would be a good one rebekah....lets see, i really like mark of the lion series, but i almost hate to say that, b/c i know that the movies would never be as good as the books!!
4. like you said, there are so many to choose from that would be good, hmmm, maybe obedience? i don't know, for some reason that comes to mind, maybe when i have kids that will change...:)
hope everyone is having a great day:) love you all so much
Very good Leah, I take back my last comment (but it did make you reply didn't it?). OK, let's see
1. Seriously? I think it would be bathrooms, like a real cleaning once a week, then the rest of the time I think I'd have them cook my meals...
2. This was actually a tough one for me, but I think I'd go with Mrs. Parkhouse. She was my grade school music teacher. She not only nurtured my love for music, but believed in me and encouraged me all the way through high school.
3. Wow, you both picked my favorite books, so let's see if I can come up with something original. I'd say Eragon. It's a book that reminds me of the Lord of the Rings series, only not as detailed or "dark." and I loved those movies.
4. I'm going to go with patience. When a person has patience it's portrayed in every area of life, how they treat others, themselves, how they react to things...yeah definately patience.
Love you guys tons and I'm miss you more than I can say!!!!!
Booxy
ok...these are tough ones! But i'll give it a go.
1. if she's coming for an hour EVERY day, then i could choose a few things right?? Laundry is up there-but she'll have to do something while it's drying, so then i'd say dishes!! Then if that's all caught up, anotherday she could clean the kids' rooms!! I can't keep up with that!
2. Mr. Stuart taught me how to appreciate the current events, and to take interest in what is going on around the world and my country! He was strict, but in a fun way, so he was just a good teacher!
3.hmmmmmmmm-another tough one. But I would have to say ANY Lori Wick book, because it would be just a good, CLEAN, romance-those are hard to find anymore!
4. I would deffinately say patience! My children need SOOO much of this! (esp Kels) It's a huge struggle! It might be tied, though, with obedience! to us and God, when they're older!
Good questions, Beks! I'm loving hearing everyone's thoughts! And we miss you too, Booxy!!!
Signing off...Kristy
Boy, these are fun questions.
1. I would have to say it would be so great to have someone come and prepare supper every evening. It would be so fun to sit down to a delicious nutrious meal every night.
2. I guess the teacher that stands out to me right now is Mr Drake. I had him for social studies in 7th grade. He was young and enthusiastic. He loved current events and history and I think all of us in his class did too. He was a Republican. I think he helped influence me in that area. Back in the 60s his thoughts were not always popular.
3.I have to go with Kristy on this one. Wouldn't "Sophie's Heart" be wonderful?
4.Kindness was a characteristic I really encouraged my children to exibit. There are so many hurting people out there and I always wanted to encourage them to make a difference, to see where they could be kind and help bless some one elses day. I don't know how they did. But I at least wanted them aware of the importance of kindness. Hopefully today they are blooming in that characteristic.
Love you guys tons! Aunt Bonnie
Hey - these questions are great and I'm loving hearing all your answers so I'm feeling like I better join in.
1st of all I would have someone clean my bathrooms - get those tubs and showers...I hate that job. Also dusting, esp my upstairs...for some reason I always put that off. Then they could clean my kitchen - or even just empty my dishwasher...I don't like that either! :)
One of my favorite teachers was Mrs. Matthews. She is such a genuine person, a Christian who loves Christ and her students. She taught English...I enjoyed her classes so much, she did not talk down to us but treated us as adults. I actually had her and another one of my favorites, Mrs. Foor over for dinner (with their hubby's) soon after Raegan was born last year. I hadn't talked to them for a long time and one day thought how I'd love to see them so I called them up. They came and we had so much fun!! :)
The movie thing, I'm not so sure because I don't read as much as I'd like. Maybe one of Francine Rivers...like Mary, Esther...any of those one the women of the bible. She makes them come alive.
Personality trait-there are many that I hope to instill but definately love. I pray for and with them every night that they will have a love for Christ and a love for others - Soft Hearts!
Boy when I get started, I go on and on don't I? Love you all. Looking forward to our weekend in March!
Jami
